A picture is said to be worth a thousand words, but is the converse true?
Words, in and of themselves, are just words, and individually they can be seen as beautiful, ugly, or neither. The same can be said of a collection of words, be it poetry or prose, but when gathered together in a randomised but harmonious and aesthetic grouping, words can be something altogether different. Removed from all notion of conventional structure, of grammar or syntax, they become something entirely different.

The Declaration of Arbroath was a Scottish declaration of independence, sent to Pope John XXII, in April 1320. With 8 Scottish Earls and 38 Barons as signatories, it was a passionate plea for Scotland’s independence from England, following Edward I’s claim some 15 years previously.
